"CyberEd is local, responsive, and able to adjust to our needs on the spot. That is why we chose them for our online provider."
CyberEd Specialists was established by educators as a response to the new graduation requirements instituted by the Michigan Department of Education. The state now mandates that all students successfully pass both courses and standardized tests in core areas. We recognize the commitment needed to ensure that a changing student population meets these new graduation standards.
CyberEd Specialists is committed to providing opportunities and support for students to be successful in the traditional classroom and the evolving distance learning classroom.
CyberEd Specialists’ founding members came together with a combined passion for creating new learning environments. The founders serve as core area course developers, instructors, and support specialists.
CyberEd Specialists provides the following:
1. Secondary Online Core Classes which align to Michigan's High School Content Expectations
Features:
Each Expectation is addressed within the course
Each course:
- is technologically interactive
- is consistent in design within the course itself
- has a uniform student-friendly interface
- has a uniform instructional interface for teachers

Benefits to Districts include:
Districts are assured that students will receive curriculum that fully aligns with State Expectations and are assessed for competence in those Michigan High School Content Expectations (HSCE). Students, in most core courses, who are found deficient in specific expectations, will be directed to individual learning modules (see below for explanation of modules). The student-friendly environment will promote student success in the course as well as proficiency in the use of technology in a distance learning setting. By offering core curriculum via distance learning, students’ schedules would allow for more on-campus electives. CyberEd Distance Learning Courses would encourage students who are Home-Schooled to be affiliated with District Schools.
2. Learning Modules that target Michigan's High School Content Expectations
Features:
- Each course consists of stand-alone learning modules
- Modules can be delivered according to individual student needs
Benefits to Districts include:
The modules will provide a method of remediation for identified deficiencies as a result of information gathered from the Diagnostic, End-of-Course, and End-of-Module Assessments (see below for explanations of Diagnostic, End-of-Course, and End-of-Module Assessments). They will also allow course completions for students transferring into a new educational setting. Modules will be beneficial to Career Tech Centers for completion of specific course requirements not covered in their courses. Students who are temporarily home bound or in an alternative educational environment will also benefit from the ability to complete Course Content Expectations by accessing Course Modules.
3. Delivery of CyberEd developed courses and Modules
Features:
- Highly Qualified Instructors
- All courses are available 24/7 with internet access
Benefits to Districts include:
Having Highly Qualified Instructors will ensure competent delivery of instruction for students. Due to the web-based nature of the courses, online resources are continually updated as new technologies and instructional information become available. Audio and visual components in the courses address multiple student learning styles.
4. Diagnostic, End of Course, and End-of-Module Assessments
Features:
- Assessments are aligned with High School Content Expectations
Benefits to Districts include:
Districts can determine proficiency of students in each subject area. Individual student deficiencies can be identified and referred to CyberEd Learning Modules for remediation rather than having to repeat an entire course. Diagnostic and End-of-Course Assessments can also be used for students to Pre-Test to identify which Expectations need to be emphasized or as a Test-Out Assessment for a course credit.
5. Secondary Elective Courses
Features:
- CyberEd elective courses are created by highly qualified teachers
- Interactive technology is a focus
Benefits to the District include:
CyberEd elective courses allow students a choice within the environment of online learning. Online electives also allow students to take courses they might have an interest in and might lead to a career.
Who are we and what do we do?
We understand that education and graduation standards for both student and instructors have changed. We are committed to the success of the students and instructors. We provide a service that develops, instructs and supports online learning. We believe the traditional classroom may not include, and fully support, every student's individual needs. We create a bridge between the traditional and virtual classrooms. Students and instructors need to be successful. CyberEd provides the development, instruction and support to ensure an online experience that is rigorous and relevant for every student as well as developing personalized learning relationships for students and instructors.
